This course, which is the first IEMA-approved ISO 50001 internal energy management system auditor training course worldwide, is designed to give participants the knowledge and confidence to carry out internal energy management system audits within their own organisation.

Auditing the system and identifying non-conformances and improvement opportunities is essential in ensuring effectiveness.

Training course is designed for auditors who wish to gain an understanding of ISO 50001 and to develop the skills necessary to become Internal Energy Management System Auditors.

• Introduction to the course and course objectives
• Difference between ISO 50001, ISO 14001 & ISO 9001
• Detailed analysis of ISO 50001 Energy Management standard clauses.
• Exercises will be carried out and sample documentation from different aspects of the standard will be reviewed as the ISO 50001 standard is analysed.

If you happen to have access to a copy of ISO 50001, please bring a copy of the standard with you. If you don’t have access, a copy will be provided for you and will be collected at the end of the course.

Course Accreditation/Assessment

IEMA is an independent, non-profit making organisation, dedicated to raising standards of professional competence in the environmental auditing and environmental management systems auditing fields and is the largest body of environmental auditors world-wide.

Learners are assessed throughout the course by continuous assessment. It is essential that learners take an active part in all course activities during the course in order that the tutor can make a full assessment of the student’s performance. Please note that it is essential for learners to be in attendance for the full course.

A certificate of attendance is issued to all learners who attend the full course. A certificate of competence is awarded to participants who satisfactorily complete the course continuous assessment. This will be issued 8 weeks after course completion.
