Financial qualifications are no longer just for university graduates. Times have changed and tuition has evolved. And financial literacy is a scarce skill. So, whether you have recently left school or are already working, you can study towards an internationally recognised ICB qualification.
The Payroll and Monthly SARS Returns skills programme prepares you to function effectively in an accounting environment and fulfill the payroll and tax returns functions within your business. This programme is one of four modules that constitute the Certified Junior Bookkeeper progamme.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- Those who wish to complete the payroll function from a bookkeeping perspective.
- Owners or managers of small businesses who wish to keep their own books.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 10 or equivalent.
- At least 16 years of age.
- No prior accounting knowledge is required.
PROGRAMME MATERIAL
- The programme fee includes ICB registration, ICB assessment fees and all programme material, which becomes the property of the student.
PROGRAMME EVALUATION
- The programme assessment includes a portfolio of evidence, three activities, two formative evaluations and a written examination at the close of the programme.
PROGRAMME OUTLINE
- Recording business financial transactions.
- VAT calculations and returns.
- Basic conditions of employment.
- Statutory registrations.
- Complete PAYE documentation.
- Accounting for payroll.
- Ethics and the registered Tax Practitioner.
CERTIFICATION
The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) is a Quality Assurance Partner (QAP) of the Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET SETA). FASSET SETA falls under the Occupational Qualifications Framework (OQF) which is quality assured by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
Varsity College, a brand of The Independent Institute of Education (Pty) Ltd (The IIE) which is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as a Private Higher Education Institute, offers tuition for the Payroll & Monthly SARS Return module which is certified by FASSET and is one of four modules constituting the National Certificate: Bookkeeping, NQF level 3, (SAQA ID 58375), which the ICB offers.
On successful completion of this Payroll & Monthly SARS Returns module, students will receive a full transcript of results from the ICB. FASSET will issue your qualification certificate to you within three months once and if you have completed all the modules that make up your qualification.
