The student will gain a thorough understanding of the design,architectures, features, and functions of IBM System x servers.This course will cover all the technological innovations that comprise the System x and BladeCenter productportfolio. First, we will build a foundation centered around basic System x architectures and technologies thatare featured across the product line. Next, we focus on the products that comprise the System x serverportfolio: tower, rack, and the new eX5 line of servers. Finally, we will look at one of the hottest infrastructuresolutions: virtualization. This course will show how the System x technologies, tools, systems managementoptions, and support combine to provide a total end-to-end business solution.There is also an instructor-led online version of this course: IBM System x Technical Principles - ILO(XTV11)

    Target Audience:

    Enrollment in this course is not restricted. However, typical students taking this course include technical IBM personnel from the FTSS, ATS and Techline organizations as well as business partner technical personnel involved with planning, installation, configuration and upgrading of xSeries servers and use of IBM Director systems management software.

    Prerequisites:

    Some experience with Intel-based computer hardware and Windows or Linux operating systems.
