COURSE OVERVIEW
This module is intended to provide you with a solid grounding in the key areas of HRM and to make you a more effective manager. You will learn why effective human resource management (HRM) is proving to be such an important factor in the success of managers and their organisations. Moreover, you will explore the key practice areas in HRM, including performance management, HR planning, work organisation, and recruitment and selection. Collective and organisational issues affecting HRM are discussed. Focus will also be on the techniques for assessing the effectiveness of HRM and considers the contribution of HR practices to organisational effectiveness. International Human Resources Management focus on explaining why managing human resources across borders has become increasingly important, which challenges can occur and what can be done to overcome those challenges.
