The HR Development Advanced Diploma course is an impressive one year advanced course designed for those with a keen interest in hr, hr management, human resource development, training and personnel management. The persity of skills and knowledge gained from this course will benefit you both personally and professionally in the years to come.

The qualification is a higher level diploma internationally and is internationally recognised and awarded by ICM (UK). The course will open a whole new world of HR related topics to you and is open to people with no prior experience in HR.

Many former graduates of this course are now Hr executives, Human Resource Managers, HR Business Partners, Recruitment or HR consultants for some of the leading national and international organisations in Ireland and abroad. During the course you will learn how to manage performance, deal with discipline and dismissal issues, develop competencies that enhance inpidual and organisational performance, understand contract and business law, learn the tools of recruitment and selection, and write staff training plans.

A new practical module putting HR into practice entitled HR Business Communications involves attending 4 workshops. You will learning the practical skill of interviewing and receiving 360 degree feedback.

The Human Resource Development Advanced Diploma course allows you to cover the current difficult industrial/ employee relations landscape which is set to dominate the HR agenda in the coming years. On successful completion you will understand the benefits of effective human resource strategies and will be able to implement new approaches to increase inpidual and organisational performance.

Course Aims

Upon completion you will be able to:

  • understand the importance of human resource development to an organisations success
  • make a positive contribution to the work of a human resource management department
  • Develop practical HR skills appropriate at a supervisory management level
  • Enhance employment opportunities within the human resource development industry

Modules

There are 4 core subjects to study for the Diploma (Part 1) and 8 core subjects to study for the Advanced DIploma (part 1 & 2):

  • Human Resource Management Practices and Policies (Previously : HR Part I)
  • Intl Business Communications (workshops) *
  • Business Management & Administration
  • Introduction to Business Law

The ICM Diploma in Human Resource Development is awarded on completion of all Part 1 subjects

PART 2

  • HR 2 - Human Resource Development Tools & Techniques
  • Management Theory & Practice
  • Training & Development
  • Employee Relations

*Practical Recruitment and selection Workshops held over 4 Monday evenings .

Entry Requirements

The course is open to applicants from various industry backgrounds.

Applicants over the age of 21 who do not hold a qualification may register for the programme provided they have been in full-time employment for a minimum of three years. If you dont have three years work experience please contact Admissions 01 4927070 who will discuss your circumstances.

Progression

Successful graduates will hold the title Adv.Dip.HRD. after their name. Students can progress on to complete a Higher Diploma in HR or Honours degree level 8 or related area. This course is open to people who have no degree background but who can demonstrate the necessary experience. Career options are wide and varied include: HR Manager, HR Business Partner, HR Executive & Assistant, Trainer & Coach, Recruitment executive.
