This course aims to provide learners with the necessary information on the hazards & risks associated with outdoor maintenance work.

Course Objectives:

On completion of this course, learners will be able to;

• List the employer’s responsibilities under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005
• List the employee’s responsibilities under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005
• Understand the importance of having a Safety Statement & carrying out Risk Assessments
• Identify the hazards associated with the equipment/machinery & substances used at work
• Select the most appropriate Personal Protective Equipment needed for the job

Course Programme:

• Health & Safety Legislation & Regulations
• Discuss the role of the employer & employee in terms of Health & Safety in the Workplace
• Evaluate the importance of the employee in hazard identification & risk assessment
• General advice on the safe use of equipment/machinery

Training Methods:

Classroom based power-point presentation with some practical exercises in hazard identification, risk assessment & information on using chemicals/hazardous substances safely.

This course is ideal for staff whose work involves working outdoors & are exposed to the hazards associated with this type of work.
