Course Content
Year 1
Year 1 introduces learners to a comprehensive range of skills relevant to the world of graphic design. These skills form the foundation required to develop an in-depth understanding of the process of graphic design, as well as the methodologies and skills required to become a practicing designer. A series of design based lectures and studio projects exploring drawing, illustration, concept development and typographical studies ensure that learners have a strong grasp of these core graphic design skills. Through mixed media and digital work, learners develop and create innovative graphic design solutions in response to a series of design briefs.
Year 2
Year 2 sees learners build upon this foundation by applying these skills and processes in a range of different contexts. Learners explore a number of fields, including Editorial Design, Digital Typography, Web Design, Photography, Digital Image Making, Branding and Digital Design Technology. By the end of Year 2, learners achieve a deeper knowledge and understanding of the core principles of graphic design, develop an impressive and varied portfolio, and are ready to engage in innovative Graphic Design practice.
