This programme has been developed to give students an internationally recognised professional level qualification. The programme enables students to build 3 distinct skill sets:
- Practical fashion design skills including sewing techniques, garment construction, pattern making, CADCAM software for fashion design
- Creative fashion design skills including drawing and illustration skills, developing a collection, creating new & unique fabrics
Professional skills for the fashion designer.
Students will generate a substantial portfolio of work over the duration of the programme. media.

Certification
On successful completion, students will be awarded with the BTEC Higher National Diploma in Fashion Design. This is equivalent to Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications for Ireland. The student will also have a strong portfolio of creative original designs, which not only show the student's varied skill set, but demonstrate their ability to communicate visually.
Our graduates are prepared for work in a range of fashion industry jobs including developing their own fashion label, working with an established brand as a garment / collection designer, fashion buyer, costume designer and fashion journalist.

About Dublin Institute of Design
to all students of the Dublin Institute of Design whom graduated Friday 19th September 2014.
The annual graduation is a special occasion that allows students to celebrate their academic achievements. This year’s graduation was held in the beautiful and historic Kings Inn.
This year’s guest speaker was Irish fashion designer Paul Costelloe, who offered warm words of enctheiragement for all present.
