    Course details

    The course aims to foster high standards of creativity and to provide a stimulating and encouraging learning environment. The internationally recognised qualification will provide the students with a comprehensive range of key skills for the development of dynamic graphic design using illustration, typography and idea development. Students will also learn to use industry standard design software including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

    Course Description

    This programme will introduce the learners to a comprehensive range of skills relevant within the world of graphic design. These skills form the foundation required to progress further and ensures that the learner gains a detailed theoretical understanding of the process of graphic design as well as methodologies and skills required to begin to practice. The fundamentals of design are taught through a series of design based lectures and studio projects exploring drawing, illustration, concept development and typographical studies. Through a range of mixed media and computer applications, the student will develop and create innovative graphic design solutions in response to a given design problem.

    Certification

    Upon successful completion, students will be awarded the BTEC Higher National Certificate in Graphic Design. This is equivalent to Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications for Ireland.

    to all students of the Dublin Institute of Design whom graduated Friday 19th September 2014.

    The annual graduation is a special occasion that allows students to celebrate their academic achievements. This year’s graduation was held in the beautiful and historic Kings Inn.

    This year’s guest speaker was Irish fashion designer Paul Costelloe, who offered warm words of enctheiragement for all present.
