During the Advanced Course students will create an end of year independent project. The project is based on creating 3 visual concepts on an international organisation's branding- for e.g.MAC. Students will be graded on the direction of the hair, makeup and fashion styling relating to the organsiation's branding, ethos and vision.

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Fast-track your fashion and photographic career as a professional make-up artist with this intensive one year programme. A truly unique and advanced level curriculum, students will undergo the most rigorous training currently on offer within industry. Focusing heavily on practical based Fashion and Photographic tuition, students graduate with the confidence and skills to step onto the career lader working as a make-up artist in the fashion, beauty and editorial industry. As well as the skills and techniques needed to provide the highest level of make-up artistry, students will also be educated on providing five star customer service, conducting retail sales, visual communication and applying design and creativity to every project. Practical, Professional, Fashion and Photographic Experience:

To prepare our students for a career within this challenging and competitive industry it is essential to gain as much practical experience as possible. With this being a key priority, students will take part in on-going photo shoots throughout the year and develop a strong professional fashion and photographic portfolio to assist in future career progression. The majority of Fashion and Photographic training will take place in the LA College of Creative Arts studios where all students will have access to hi-tech facilities and equipment. Every component of this fashion and photographic course is taught by a core team of reputable make-up artists all of which are working professionals regularly featured in the world of print media, celebrity, film and television. Throughout the year LA College of Creative Arts team will welcome international make-up artists to teach a series of master classes offering precious industry insight and teaching the most current make-up techniques. All of these serve to heighten the superior level of international training and expertise on offer at the LA College of Creative Arts. All students of this course receive an opportunity to showcase their talent at our end of year show in front of industry leaders, recruitment agencies, friends and family.

LA College of Creative Arts Career Placement Programme is open to all of our current and graduate students, and is highly recognized for its international placements with top brands. LA provides an invaluable opportunity to apply newly acquired skills and techniques in a professional setting, working with some of the industry’s key personnel and brands on advertisements, editorial fashion shoots, photo calls, media press days and fashion shows. Former students of this course have enjoyed work placements on leading magazine titles such as Harpers Bazaar, The Times Style Magazine, Vogue, ID and Image as well as top rating TV shows such as Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model and Sky One’s Got To Dance, and esteemed broadcasters such as BBC, MTV, RTE & TV3.

The LA College of Creative Arts was founded in 2005 by Lorraine O’Neill. After travelling extensively across the world studying every element of the make-up and beauty industry, Lorraine returned home and spotted an immediate gap in the market for a college that offered a superior level of training in creative arts.
