Aims and Opportunities

• The many changes and challenges in the Health Sector have created employment opportunities for those with the necessary updated skills and knowledge.
• These courses are designed to prepare students to meet employment opportunities that exist in acute hospitals, community care, health centres, general practices, hospitals for older people, social services, psychiatric hospitals.
• School leavers, adult learners, those who want to retrain, people from other countries will gain the basic certification required for working in private or public sector healthcare services.
• Learners also have the option of continuing their education to higher education courses such as nursing, social work, community development, gerontology, etc.

Entry Requirements

• FETAC Level 4, Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied
• Recognised qualifications of approved overseas institutions
• Mature students with relevant work or life experience
• English language proficiency if appropriate.
