Course details
This course is designed to prepare students to work competently, safely and effectively as Health Care Support Workers in a variety of settings such as nursing homes, hospitals and home help support. The course will provide graduates with a high standard of training and assessment leading to a recognised qualification for those pursuing a career in the Health-care sector.

Entry Requirements
- Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent standard of education;
- Relevant work experience coupled with life experience;
- All entry is subject to interview;
- Satisfactory Garda Clearance application;
- Satisfactory medical assessment.
Work Experience
Work experience placement is an integral part of this course. Candidates gain first-hand experience by attending appropriate and related work placements within the health-care environment. Garda clearance is essential to partake in work experience which comprises of minimum of 30 days work placement. This course is also available to students working in the healthcare sector.

- FETAC Level 5 Healthcare support (DHSXX)
- Manual Handling of Patients Certificate
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- FETAC Level 5 Occupational First Aid Certificate
