Course details

To equip learners with the practical skills and knowledge necessary to manage the workplace in a safe, legally compliant and risk-controlled manner.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

• Understand the responsibilities of the organization and management in health & safety management
• Know how to practically manage risk in the workplace, and be aware of a range of hazards
• Develop a range of skills required to maintain a safe place of work, including risk assessment and safety statement maintenance

This course is suitable for those with a Level 5 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experience. The course is primarily intended for managers/supervisors.

ASSESSMENT consists of:

• Written Examination (30% of total marks) – on the final day candidates.
• Project (70%) – learners will be asked to design a Risk Management Programme for a workplace.
• Full guidance and support will be provided to learners.
