Course details

Drivers involved in the transportation and handling of hazardous materials on Singapore roads as required by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF)

OBJECTIVE

At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

• Explain the 9 classes of hazardous substances and their identifications
• Explain the purpose and legislation requirements on the transportation of hazardous materials
• Appreciate the roles and responsibilities of the drivers in any emergency
• Appreciate the basic principles on the chemistry of fire and be able to operate a fire extinguisher effectively

Closing Date for application is 2 weeks before commencement of the course.

This course is approved for funding under the Skills Development Fund (SDF) and the Skills Redevelopment Programme (SRP).

Upon passing a theory test, participants will receive a Statement of Test Results. This will enable them to apply for a Hazardous Materials Transport Driver Permit (HTDP) from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
