Course details
The Department of Hand Surgery provides comprehensive management of all traumas and diseases affecting the hand and the wrist; upper limb diseases that affect hand function and microsurgical reconstruction. It is a recognised tertiary referral centre for complex conditions affecting the hand and upper limb. There are emergency hand services, specialist outpatient services and ambulatory surgery services.

Microsurgical Reconstruction of the Upper Limb
- Skin and Composite Tissue
- Flap Transfer
- Toe to Thumb / Finger Transfer
- Functioning Free Muscle Transfer
Upper Limb Neuromuscular Disorders Clinic
Referral criteria: Patients with neuro-muscular disorders that impair hand and upper limb functions.
- Brachial Plexus injury
- Obstetrics Brachial Palsy
- Cerebral Palsy
- Stroke
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Peripheral nerve injuries
- Peripheral nerve compression (except carpal tunnel syndrome)
- Peripheral nerve tumours
