    This course combines hairdressing, beauty and make-up skills. Learners who successfully complete this course can progress to employment while continuing to upskill in the exciting and rewarding hair, beauty and make-up industries.

    Learners who successfully complete a QQI Level 5 Certificate may be able to use their results to progress to related Level 7 and Level 8 Degree Programmes in Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology. Third level progression opportunities for QQI learners are continually being developed and enhanced.

    • Diagnosing Hair & Scalp Conditions, Shampooing, Conditioning, Blow Drying, Setting, Basic Cutting and Styling, Colour Application, Perming and Neutralising, Colour Diagnosis and Techniques, Perming Techniques, Hair Styles for Special Occasions

    BEAUTY THERAPY

    Skin Analysis & Facial Treatments, Eyebrow Shaping, Eyelash & Eyebrow Tinting, Facial Massage, Facial Masks, Exfoliation Techniques, Manicure & Pedicure, Beautician Studies, Creative and Character Make-up, Special Make-up Effects, Nail Technology

    Career Opportunities

    Continue training in the hairdressing industry to complete a hairdressing apprenticeship

    Freelance in make-up and hair Direct employment as a beauty specialist in:

    • Beauty Salon
    • Health spa
    • Cosmetic retail sales
    • Cruise liners
    • Nail technician

    Entry Requirements

    • Leaving Certificate level or equivalent
