Course details
The aim of this course is to introduce the participants to the modern GC/MS technique, understanding of the principles of chromatography and mass spectrometry and its applications to various fields.
Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the principles of chromatographic process, mass spectrometry
- Carry out basic operations of GC/MS
- Prepare samples for GC/MS analysis
- Identify the analysts in the sample by comparing with mass spectral data base
Participants
Analytical chemists, laboratory supervisors, lab managers, analysts, working in petroleum, food, environmental, forensic and pharmaceutical fields.
Pre-requisites
B.Sc. and or diploma in chemistry or chemical engineering. Good understanding of spoken English.
