- Identify a range of hand and portable power tools and their application in furniture manufacture
- Explore a range of material finishes
- Employ workshop resources to construct items of furniture to include selection and use of appropriate hand and portable power tools
- Illustrate design ideas through a range of media to include sketching and working drawings
- Apply furniture production principles to a workshop environment to include construction of a range of material jointing techniques
- Select and apply a range of material finishes to include polishes, lacquers, paints and varnishes
- Contribute to improvements in health and safety procedures in a workshop environment
- Respond to a given brief to produce an item of furniture
- Evaluate work produced in response to a specific design brief considering, planning, objectives, preparation and time management.
