Course details
Learners interested in the design, making and restoration of furniture will be introduced to the basics of hand machining furniture craft skills in Year 1. Learners are encouraged to work independently and in groups to complete their own uniquely designed furniture. Through these practical elements, learners will gain the necessary skills to continue their studies, achieve employment in the industry or start their own business. In Year 2, learners’ skills in the design, planning and manufacture of furniture are further enhanced. Throughout their course of study, learners gain the hand craft and machine skills to perform a variety of traditional and modern woodworking processes.
