This course is specifically designed for fire officers and firefighters to render medical assistant in emergencies; as it contains 30% theory and 70% practical where they put their skills into practice. This will be accomplished by gaining knowledge and skills in the following areas:- Roles the fire service may take in providing emergency medical care.

- Distinguish among commonly encountered communicable diseases.
- Immunization considerations for first responders
- The importance of body substance isolation (BSI).
- Actions taken for basic patient assessment.
- CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants.
- Administer and discontinue CPR.

- Control external bleeding.
- Internal bleeding.
- The types, signs, and symptoms of shocks.
