The Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering (FdEng) is an industry based, vocational qualification designed for people who want to get a practical start to their career.
In addition to providing a fast-track entry to industry, the Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering (FdEng) gives you the option of taking your studies further to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Aircraft Engineering awarded by Kingston University London through a Top Up programme.
Course Objectives
This is a full-time Degree programme designed to cover the basic knowledge requirements for the Part 66 Cat B 1.1 Licence and the Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering (FdEng) requirements of Kingston University London.
Entry Requirements
Prospective students should have GCE ‘A’ Level with credit in English, Mathematics and Science [Combined Science, Physical Science, Physics, Science (Physics, Biology), Science (Physics, Chemistry)] OR Polytechnic Diploma in Engineering OR equivalent.
Course Structure
The modules in this full-time Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering (FdEng) will provide a firm foundation for training as an Aircraft Engineer. A work-based module covers ‘hand skills’ to aircraft engineering standard. Other modules give you an understanding of the work environment and legal requirements relating to the operations of commercial aircraft.
