About Villiers Secondary School
Villiers Secondary- School is a co'educational, fee paying, boarding and day secondary school, located on the North Circular Road, Limerick, Ireland. Founded under the will of Mrs. Hannah Villiers in 1821, Villiers has a Protestant ethos and is managed jointly by the headmistress, board of management and a board of governors. The management and staff embrace and maintain the traditional values of the school and balance them with modern, state of the art educational facilities to develop an environment which engenders growth on an academic, cultured and social level.
Boarders account for about 30% of the student body, with the rest living locally. The student body is multi-denominational and diverse, including students from Spain, Germany, Russia, Italy, France, Mexico, China, Japan, South Korea and many more.
The school has recently been modernised and extended with state of the art science laboratories, art room, technology labs, and a large IT suite. AU classrooms have been similarly modernised, many with interactive white- boards and other modern media. Furthermore the gymnasium and hockey pitch are complimented by new changing rooms and pavilion.
