Course details

There are over 34 fire authorities in the Republic of Ireland and only some run services. The majority run retained services – i.e. paid a retainer for being available when bleeped from home or work etc. It is councils (city and county) that are responsible for the recruitment of their fire services.

What we do

Career Services : The Entrance Exam Experts run preparation courses to help candidates pass the entrance exams and interview stages of the recruitment process for ‘firefighters’. Because each council is responsible for the recruitment of their own fire service, there is no standard method of applying for the various recruitment competitions.

Upcoming Competitions

Dublin City Council has recently held a recruitment competition for firefighters but the competition was only open to Dublin City Council employees. It is anticipated that there will shortly be some form of recruitment for Dublin City Fire Services that will be open to the public.
