Course details

This summer course will introduce teachers to the skills involved in the process of film-making and how it can support and develop literacy skills. Each module is structured to encourage a hands-on approach to learning.

Each module will begin with an exemplar before participants work on a range of directed tasks and activities through the use a variety of film-making technologies (hand-held camera devices, software,) as tools to develop pupils’ literacy skills.

All modules finish with a group discussion on classroom implementation as well as the sharing of ideas, strategies and good practice.

Over the duration of the course, participants will explore how the process of film-making can be used to develop relevant resources to enhance teaching and learning in literacy across the curriculum.
