Course details
This course provides a hands-on introduction to operating and configuring a Fail Safe Control (FSC) System consisting specifically of Fail Safe Controllers, Stand Alone Computers, Universal Stations/Global User Stations and/or PlantScape Systems. Skills include implementing a Fail Safe Control System by configuring FSC parameters and points along with TotalPlant Solution Network (TPN) point building.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will gain basic operating skills and the skills required to diagnose faults and troubleshoot a FSC system from the power-on state to an operational state. Participants will also be able to identify hardware components of the FSC System, utilize tools to facilitate system maintenance and support functions, design functional logic diagrams and project applications. This course also establish the foundation for further in-depth implementation or maintenance training
Course Outline
- Identify FSC hardware and their functions (brief)
- Navigate and manipulate FSC Navigator Software Package
- Manipulate and operate FSC Units
- Load and operate a functional application
- Troubleshoot the FSC System
- Implement Diagnostics
- View diagnostics from FSC, TPS, and Plantscape systems
- Operate On Line functionality Parameters(forces, writes, custom screens…etc)
- Operate functional logic diagrams
- Operate UCN status displays for Safety Managers
- Connect Safety Managers to the UCN
- Connect Safety Managers to the Plantscape System
- Identify FTA’s
- Design Functional Logic Diagrams
- Operate and build FSC and TPN points
- View FSC points on a PlantScape system
- Make On-line modifications
Target Audience
FSC Customers:
- New to FSC system implementation
- Responsible for implementing and/or supporting an existing FSC System
- Requiring broad familiarization with much of the FSC system’s capabilities
Requirements
- Microsoft Windows NT 4.0: User Fundamentals - 71006
- or successful completion of Windows NT pre-test with a minimum score of 80%, available at enrollment
Desirable Skills and/or Experiance
- Familiarization with own plant’s process control environment
Will I recieve a certificate of completion?
Certificates of Participation will be awarded to participants who have achieved 75% attendance for the course.
