Information Technology (IT) makes businesses work efficiently. Guess who maintains the IT systems of companies – large and small? IT Network and Systems Administrators! They are the ones who make sure all PCs and computer programs are working and interconnected.
This course is for those who want to become IT System Engineers/Administrators.
How will I benefit from taking this course?
This course provides students an understanding of system networks, servers, operating systems, and how to support IT infrastructures and customer service skills to handle service requests in a professional manner. This course is suitable for those who would like to enter the IT industry. At the end of this course, students will be able to take certification programs in CompTia Network+ and Enterprise Desktop Technician as Microsoft Certified IT Professional.
What will I learn?
Students will gain knowledge and skills to:
- Manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, operate and configure basic network infrastructure. Students will also learn Network specific security practices, disaster recovery procedures, data storage technology implementation
- Understand fundamentals of networking, security, and server administration with Windows Server 2012 R2
- Install, upgrade, and migrate to Windows 8.1 client. Students will also learn to configure Windows 8.1 client for network connectivity, security, maintenance, and mobile computing
- Support Windows 8.1 operating system and solve technical troubleshooting problems in a Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 networking environment. Students will be able to use troubleshooting methodology and assume role of Enterprise Desktop Support Technician (EDST).
- Provide customer service to support IT functions of an enterprise

Entry Requirements

- Passed the entrance test
- Have a minimum NITEC or A level or O/N level qualification
Entrance Test
- Students interested in this course need to pass the entrance test that includes:
- Writtentest (includes a range of multiple choice, close ended questions etc)
- Interview conducted to measure the soft skills of the student
