Course details
The aim of this module is to introduce students to the principles & components of EBP; Clinical Decision Making; Formulating a Clinical Question; Searching Skills; Study Design/Methodologies; Systematic Reviews/Meta Analysis; Critical Appraisal; Tools of EBP; Clinical Guidelines and Integrated care Pathways so that they are in a position to implement the best available evidence into their daily practice.
Course work & participation in on-line discussions. Examples of coursework include essays; literature reviews; development of posters; portfolios; group presentations
Entry Requirements:
Applicants for Stand Alone Modules must be:
A. Be a registered nurse on the register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
OR
B. Be registered on the appropriate professional register.
AND
C. Be currently employed in health care either in: clinical practice/management/ research /education. Some modules may only be undertaken while working in a specific related area. This is specified in module descriptions.
