Course details

The Event Management Diploma course is designed for inpiduals who are entirely new to the event industry and for those wishing to understand how to organise successful events. The event profession is a young and dynamic industry that has expanded rapidly in Ireland over the past few years giving rise to an ever increasing demand for professional event managers.

From indoor to outdoor events, you will learn how to organise an event from the start to successful completion. The event course covers 6 different units which are completed over 10 weeks, each module identified as reflecting best practice by the events industry. The course is offered by classroom or by online learning. The Diploma in Event Management is internationally recognised and awarded by CMI (UK) and leads to a nationally recognised Event Management QQI- FETAC level 6 component Award.

Course Aims

The aim of the Event course is to provide you with the numerous skills you need to manage successful events. By learning how to plan, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate events, you will learn best industry practice. You will have the opportunity to put together your own event project/plan which will allow you to manage the concept and idea through to the proposal and implementation of the event.

The assessment involves completing a project and 4 assignments plus one case study. To help you on your way, case examples will be explored from Concerts, Festivals and Outdoor events to Indoor Events such as Private Functions, Corporate events, Conferences, Weddings, and Product Launches. Past students have done very well. Many have started their own events business, while others use the knowledge gained for their current employer, some now work with leading Event Management companies, Hotels, Conference Management, Organise Outdoor Festivals, Wedding planners, Banqueting, catering and hospitality managers.

• Special Events – Indoor & Outdoor Event Management
• Marketing & Public Relations of Events

Progression

Successful graduates will hold the title Dip.EM after their name. Students can progress on to complete the Advanced Diploma in Event Management or pursue a Degree in Business, Project & Event management.
