Module Units

ECDL Computer Essentials

• This module sets out essential concepts and skills relating to the use of devices, file creation and management, networks and data security.

ECDL Online Essentials

• This module sets out essential concepts and skills relating to web browsing, effective information search, online communication and e-mail.

ECDL Word Processing

• This Word Processing course provides the basis for the practice-based test in this module. Word Processing requires the learner to demonstrate the ability to use a word processing application to create everyday letters and documents.

ECDL Spreadsheets

• The Spreadsheet course provides the basis for the practice-based test in this module.   Spreadsheets requires the learner to understand the concept of spreadsheets and to demonstrate an ability to use a spreadsheet to produce accurate work.

Using Database

• Using Database requires the learner to understand the concept of a database and demonstrate competence in using this application.

Presentation

• The Presentation course provides the basis for the practice-based test in this module. Presentation requires the learner to demonstrate competence in using presentation software.

IT Security

• This module sets out essential concepts and skills relating to the ability to understand the main concepts underlying the secure use of ICT in daily life and to use relevant techniques and applications to maintain a secure network connection, use the Internet safely and securely, and manage data and information appropriately.

The aim of the ECDL European Computer Driving Licence Course is to:

Assessment

• Learners take the examinations online at the end of each module. These exams are taken at our online examination centre in Dorset College. The ECDL Award is available to learners who pass all 7 Modules.

• NEW ECDL-European Computer Driving Licence
• ECDL Profile Awards
• Learners are eligible to receive an ECDL Profile record of the modules they have attained once they have passed one or more New ECDL modules.
