The aim of this course is to provide participants with the necessary principles and techniques for environmental monitoring statistical analysis. The course focuses on a complete understanding of how statistical tests through applications to field-oriented problems. Methods for descriptive and prediction are illustrated along with their common problems. Exercises follow each lecture using examples of environmental quantitative data to understand new methods using SPSS software.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand basic concepts of environmental statistics
- Understand methods for selecting sampling location and times
- Prepare environmental sampling plan
- Manipulation with SPSS statistics software
- Construct predictive models using multivariate linear regression
- Running a cluster analysis
- Running a factor analysis
