English for Medical

Course details

This program basically aims at equipping trainees with the necessary language skills they need to cope with the linguistic requirements of their specialisation and use English properly as well as fluently in the professional environment they are expected to join. As it draws on a wide range of topics and applications that are related to medical.

Since the course is oriented towards communication rather than knowledge acquisition in the field of specialisation, it gradually trains the trainees to interpret and use words appropriately and  formulate grammatically correct statements while speaking and writing about issuess related to drug administration, history taking, lab reports, and hospital procedures. This course will also familiarises the students with basic medical terminology of Latina and Greek roots.

Upon Completion of this program trainees will be able to: 

• Use vocabulary in the medical fields appropriate to the contexts.
• Perform the writing tasks in medical career, e.g. writing a health history, filling out a patient admission form, etc.
• Skim and scan texts in the medical field with a high level of comprehension.
• Have a conversation in the contexts of their medical career in the workplace.

Achievement Certificate from GTI (is awarded to the learners who get a minimum of 60 marks out of a 100)
