60% Training, 40% Work Experience. The Employer Based Training programme is designed with employment in mind. Learners will learn a wide range of practical skills required every day in the workplace. The programme is a combination of on-the-job, in-centre and external training. Learners get the opportunity to develop skills with a host company in a skill area of their choice. The Employer, with the guidance of the Employer Based Training Co-ordinator, will help learners put into practice the skills they learn in the training room. The Co-ordinator will support both the Employer and the Learner. Certification at FETAC level 4 is available for all learners in-centre and via e-learning, while some learners may consider externally delivered certification to match their chosen vocational area. Job Seeking/Employment Skills, IT Skills, Career Planning, Personal Development, Health & Safety and Manual Handling. The on-the-job training allows the learner to gain skills & qualifications where appropriate in their chosen area.
