Course details
This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue a career in the Emergency Services. Once the student passes his/her NQEMT (National Qualification in Emergency Medical Technology) at EMT level they will be invited to apply to the examining body PHECC (Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council) for an EMT license and to be put on the national register. Once qualified, applications can be made for work within the private sector and also to the HSE for patient transfer positions.
Method of Delivery
The course is delivered through theory based lectures and presentations and practical skills classes and demonstrations. Students will also undertake a minimum 40 hours of Clinical Placement (observation) in order to prepare completely for working in the field.

The Irish Ambulance Training Institute was established in 2007 to deliver a national and professional training service. their client base has extended to include a range of care providers including Ambulance Services, and a number of other students including Fire Brigade, members of Defence Forces, Gardai, Health Care Professionals, inpiduals and members of Sporting Organisations.
While they do offer training at any location nationwide, provided for by their mobile training unit, for on site training at any location and their clients convenience, they do also offer ctheirses at their fixed location training sites in Dublin, Cork, Donegal and at their flagship and headoffice site at Briarhill, Galway.
