AIM:
This Electrical Verification & Certification assessment/course is to update the skills of electricians operating in the electrical industry, to verify, test, complete test records, and completion of certificates to comply with Safe Electric requirements.
OBJECTIVES:
On successful completion of this training the candidate will be able to,
- Visually inspect a electrical installation and identify faults
- Test the electrical system using required instruments to verify safety within the system in accordance with ET101
- Enable you to meet the requirements of clause 1.2.12 (iii) of section C of the CER Criteria Document
- Enable you to obtain a QC number
CONTENT:
- Module 1 Pre assessment test on electrical safety
- Module 2 Visual inspections of faults on electrical systems
- Module 3 Inspection and test of domestic circuits, continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, loop impedance and RCD operation
- Module 4 Complete test record sheets and completion certificates
TRAINEE PROFILE:
- Served a recognised apprenticeship as an electrician and having been awarded a National Craft Certificate or
- Another suitable electrical award, equivalent to Level 6 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications
- RECI/ECSSA card and number

METAC Training is the largest energy training and assessment centre in Ireland and the UK and trains approximately 2,700 people annually. Their realistic training facilities equip people with practical skills for the modern workforce that are nationally recognised by FAS/SOLAS, FETAC/QQI, City & Guilds, UKAS, Bord Gais and OFTEC, amongst others. In September 2010, They invested and installed a 16 metre 6KW wind turbine and accompanying Photovoltaic systems at Their centre which was supported and grant aided by Laois Partnership Ltd. making us the first and only training centre to do so. This facility now allows us to expand Their renewable energy training to incorporate wind training.
On completion of Their cTheirses all participants are equipped with practical skills that are nationally recognised by FAS/SOLAS, Bord Gais, City & Guilds and OFTEC.
