Education Research Methods

Course details

This module will focus on developing initial research knowledge and skills. The module will provide the participant with an overview of research, knowledge of data collection methods as well as an understanding of approaches to data analysis. The concept of research will be explored and consideration will be given to quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods of research.

Student may choose from the following list of modules:

• Adult, Disadvantaged and Intercultural Education (ADI)
• Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs)
• Challenging Behaviour (CB)
• Educational Research Methods
• General Learning Disabilities (GLDs)
• Inclusion for Learning
• Literacy
• Numeracy
• Specific Learning Difficulties 1 (SLD 1) – Communication, Speech and Language Difficulties and Dyslexia
• Specific Learning Difficulties 11 (SLD 11)- Dyscalculia, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Dyspraxia/Developmental Coordination Disorder

Each module is timetabled for a 6-8 week time-frame. Five modules will be offered per term.
