Introduction
The aim of this programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to engage with the education and training sector. This programme equips participants with the key trainer competencies to function effectively in a wide range of education and training environments.
Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate with 5 passes or Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent. For mature students applications may be considered based on a proven interest in education & training. Entry may be subject to interview and depends on successful completion of an induction programme and Garda Vetting.

Course Structure
The course covers underpinning philosophies and theory relating to education and training. It aims to develop learner's knowledge of Irish and European training provision and also considers global development issues. Course content covers a wide range of educational and training environments, including: early childhood, young people and adults.
Career Options | Progression
This certificate course gives learners all the practical skills and underpinning knowledge required for a career in a variety of Education and Training environments. Holders of QQI Level 5 Certificate in Education & Training may progress to further study at Institutes of Technology/Universities through the Higher Education Links Scheme.
