Introduction
This Advanced Certificate course gives learners all the practical skills and underpinning knowledge, required for a career in supervision in childcare. It also meets the educational requirements of the ECCE Scheme. Many childcare settings are now seeking Level 6 qualifications for their employees in line with this Scheme.
Entry Requirements
This is an Advanced Certificate course for those who have completed the QQI Level 5 Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education or equivalent.Entry may be subject to interview & depends on satisfactory completion of an induction programme & Garda Vetting.

Course Structure
If you already have a childcare qualification or currently work in the childcare field, this course will enhance your knowledge (including Síolta and Aistear) and supervisory skills. Work Experience within a variety of Early Childhood Care and Education situations forms an integral part of the course.
Career Options | Progression
Holders of a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education may progress to further study at Institutes of Technology/Universities through the Higher Education Links Scheme. You may also directly enter employment in a supervisory role in a range of childcare settings. There has been a steady growth in the number of Level 6 graduates employed in preschool services.
