Course details
Econometrics informs and supports decision making in finance, economics and business environments. This course introduces statistical methods and econometric modelling, focusing upon providing students with hands-on skills required in applied economics, commerce, finance and business decision making processes. Students are introduced to solving econometric problems using an Excel spread sheet environment. Emphasis is placed upon problem-solving and drawing inferences from data to make informed decisions using real life case studies in the current financial and business environment.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe econometrics concepts and methodologies
- Apply regression analysis to real-world economic examples
- Use correlation and regression analysis in time series micro and macro data
- Employ analytical skills to solve simple econometric and statistical problems
