Early Childhood Care and Education

Course details

This course introduces students to a general working knowledge and understanding of children in early childhood. Students gain first-hand experience throughout the year by attending work placements one day per week, in a variety of settings.

A programme of continuous assessment will be in operation. Assessment involves module assignments, projects, case studies and examinations and work experience reports.

Progression and Career Prospects

Many of our students now work at home and abroad in Pre-Schools, Nurseries, Montessori Schools and other related areas, such as Special Needs and Classroom Assistance. Students may gain entry to the Level 6 Advanced Childcare course in Inchicore College.
