Course details

This course provides the successful learners with a nationally accredited award in the theory and practice of Early Childhood Care and Education. The learner will gain knowledge, skills and the competence to work under supervision and independently in a range of Early Childhood Care and Education settings. This award provides a link to Early Childhood Care and Education Degree Programmes in Ireland through the CAO system. QQI level 5 is an internationally recognised award which allows learners to travel with their qualification.

Entry Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent
  • Leaving Certificate Applied with a merit profile
  • Full FETAC Level4 Award in the area of Childcare with a merit profile
  • Mature Applicants - experience will beconsidered in lieu of formal qualifications

Places are offered following a successful interview. Garda vetting is necessary prior to work experience placement. Learners must be 18 years old by the 30th November 2015 to facilitate work experience and GardaVetting.
