Course details
With the advent of technology, learners are afforded with the flexibility to learn anytime and anywhere. Given the demands of the knowledge economy, learners are increasingly expected to be effective problem solvers, demonstrating 21st century competencies such as critical thinking, effective communication skills, resourcefulness and self-directedness. Online learning or e-learning, with a focus on student-centred learning, is therefore timely and well-positioned to support such competencies.
So how does student-centred e-learning look like? What are the underpinning principles and considerations that we should be aware of? What platforms and e-tools, e.g., cloud-based software and mobile apps, can we leverage to support such an approach?
The course is designed to help participants answer these questions by equipping them with an understanding of how student-centred e-learning can be implemented. Participants will have an opportunity to explore the use of various e-tools as well as design e-learning lesson plans that are unique to their organisations.
Course Format
The training will be conducted in a workshop style with a focus on collaborative team-based learning. The facilitator will integrate the use of different e-tools in this course and participants can look forward to an experiential, hands-on approach to implementing “e-learning the student-centred way”.
