Course details

The DJ Techniques course is a one year course designed to educate and train learners in beat mixing, scratching, digital DJ’ing, music production, studio operation, promotion and event management. Learners can avail of six custom built DJ booths, each containing a range of industry standard DJ equipment from companies such as Technics, Pioneer, Vestax, Serato, Rane and more. Each learner has access to an Apple iMac computer with a soundcard and MIDI controller running the latest versions of Ableton, Pro-Tools, Reason and more. Learners also have access to a 24 channel Analogue and Digital recording studio with a custom built professional-recording studio bookable by students. Professional instrumentation such as Moog and Yamaha synthesizers, an Elektron Machine Drums are bookable by students. For those who want to progress further the DJ Techniques course feeds into the two year diploma in Music Production.

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent

  • Full QQI Level 4 Award
  • Mature Applicants – experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
