Course Content:
Day 1 & 2
Will involve exploring the acting process from within. It will help ground your direction in the actors experience so you’ll be stepping onto the other side of the camera in a safe space to explore what it actually feels like. It will include some simple improvisation techniques and focus on learning to understand the actors process and language. Day 2 will involve exploration of scenes with students in the actors role, scene breakdown, blocking & techniques on giving direction.
Day 3 & 4
Actors will arrive and you will direct them in the scenes using some of the techniques you have worked on in the previous two days. This day will focus on exploration of the possibilities of the scene with the actors. Day 4 will offer the chance to rework scenes, figure out blocking and get ready for shoots.
