Course details
This course focuses on all aspects of sound production including studio recording, live sound and audio visual.
Develop skills within the recording industry, including skills of the studio engineer and record producer. You will learn how to use audio electronic systems and gain skills applicable to a range of careers within the recording, live entertainment, television and film industries.
This course will provide you with recording and editing skills on media including hard disk, CD and DVD ProTools, advanced microphone techniques, session management and the knowledge of sound for live performances. You will learn about current and historical styles of commercial recording, audio and recording production techniques including the operation of studio sound suites for film post-production for the sound industry. Main study areas include: Music (technical production), Music industry, Music technology, Sound recording.

There are many employment options within the entertainment and performance industry that include live performance, music media and recording opportunities. You might seek employment as a recording engineer, producer, editor, live sound operator or develop your own music business.

What further study options will I have?
After you graduate you will be eligible to apply for entry into the Bachelor of Applied Music (Audio Production). Some advanced standing applies for suitable applicants.You may choose to concurrently study music units from the Certificate IV in Music to assist you prepare for degree entry.
