This course immerses you into current industry software and web programming tools. You will develop practical skills used in designing and building enterprise databases, software and web applications, android applications, and addressing content management and versioning control.

People suited to enrolling in this course will be interested in software programming and website development.

You will learn how to use software programming languages including: VB.NET, C#.NET, Java, Java Script, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Wordpress, and Eclipse; and web technologies including: PHP, PHP Framework, CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap 3+, JEE Java for the Web, JPA, ORM, JSP, and Servlets. Finally you will work with a team on a project to design, develop and present a software/web solution to meet an enterprise specification requirement. In your project you will learn how to gather information to identify business requirements, translate business needs into technical requirements and use learned rapid application development skills to build a software solution.

When enrolling in this course you may commence studies at the Certificate IV in Information Technology level to ensure you have the underpinning knowledge and skills for Diploma level study.

If you have already completed a Certificate IV in Information Technology, or have demonstrated software and website development programming skills you would be well suited to this qualification.

Students enrolled in the Diploma of Software Development also have an opportunity to study and complete at the same time, a dual qualification; the Diploma of Website Development.
