Course details
Designed in consultation with Sport Singapore, the Diploma in Sports Coaching (DSC) will drill you in the art and science of coaching. Learn the basics of sports science, psychology, and nutrition while picking up soft skills in communication, athlete and team management, and professional ethics. You will also get a 30-hour mentorship with a senior coach who will share various coaching styles, philosophies, methods, and strategies.
DSC will give you the foundation you need to build a rewarding career as a sports coach who is fully capable of taking on inpidual athletes and teams.
Course Outcomes
- Gain a multidisciplinary understanding of sports coaching with the development of both academic and practical skills
- Receive training in the fundamentals of sports science such as psychology and nutrition
- Learn the latest industry-relevant skills and technology
- Undergo a 16-week industry attachment programme with a national sports association such as the Singapore Athletic Association or Football Association of Singapore, or a private coaching club
