Course Objective
The Diploma in Purchasing & Materials Management aims to equip students with the knowledge and practical techniques of purchasing and supply management, as well as materials planning and control.
More specifically, the course develops students with a strong foundation of purchasing principles & techniques, materials planning and control, and supply management, as well as the knowledge and techniques in a variety of business disciplines, such as economics, law, statistics, accounting, finance, and management that are relevant in modern business organisations.
Faculty & Mode Of Delivery
Our teaching faculty are highly experienced practitioners with accredited academic qualifications and professional competence. This course is 100% face-to-face lecture. The course work includes attendance at lectures, case discussions, class participations, presentations, as well as completing individual and group assignments.
Students are expected to make use of relevant websites and the internet for purposes of learning and research.
Attendance & Assessment
Attendance is monitored regularly and unless approved, students must achieve a minimum overall attendance of 75% to be eligible for the end-of-trimester examinations.
In each subject, students are assessed through a written assignment and an examination towards the end of the study period. The written assignment is designed to test the comprehension and application of knowledge that are taught on selected topics of the subject.
Academic Award & Credential Title
Students must pass all 6 subjects (at least a grade “E” in each subject) within the candidature period, in order to complete this course successfully.
All graduates can use the post-nominal credential title of ADPMM (SIPMM) and are eligible for 56 Competency Merit Points (CMPs) that can be used for certification eligibility with World Certification Institute.
Award Recognition
Courses at SIPMM Academy are widely accepted by the industries, and are recognised by several accredited universities in UK and Australia. Please contact SIPMM Academy for details on any advanced standing granted by the university. All prospective students are however advised that the decision lies on the university as to the final acceptance of the students into their courses.
