Diploma in Management( Level - 7 NFQ)

Course details

The Level 5 NVQ in Management is a cross-sector qualification. This means that this NVQ will be taken by people with personal responsibility and autonomy in their roles across a wide variety of areas.

Level 5 candidates can expect to be working in a management and leadership role. 

Assessment ­ Mandatory Units

•  Develop A Strategic Business Plan
•  Develop Strategic Direction and Leadership
•  Lead Change in an Organisation

Assessment ­ Optional Units
Students must select from the list of optional subjects to make up at least 15 credits.

•  Develop, maintain and review personal networks
•  Establish risk management processes for an organisation
•  Manage risk in own area of responsibility
•  Inform strategic decision-making
•  Support the culture of an organisation
•  Lead innovation within an organisation
•  Implement change in own area of responsibility
•  Know how to follow disciplinary procedures
•  Managing grievance procedures
•  Developing collaborative relationship with other organisations
•  Develop working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
•  Recruit staff in own area of responsibility
•  Examine staff turnover issues in own area of responsibility
•  Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility
•  Address performance problems affecting team members
•  Build, support and manage a team

Academic Progression
This qualification can provide progression to further qualifications at level 5 or higher in the same and related subject areas. They may include 

•  NCFE Level 7 Diploma in Management (NFQ Level 8)

Graduates will obtain a nationally-recognised Level 7 Diploma award on the National Framework of Qualifications and will therefore be eligible to progress to further study in related programmes at higher education institutions throughout Ireland i.e. graduates will be eligible to transfer to two-year add-on honours degree programmes.
