Course details
The objective of this course is to prepare students with adequate basis for assuring society that those students who are admitted to membership are competent to act as management accountants for entities, whether in manufacturing, commercial or service organisations, in the public or private sectors of the economy.
LEARNING OUTCOME
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- explain the social, political and economic context of business.
- analyse the relationship between the internal governance of the firm and external sources of governance and regulation.
- analyse how information systems can be implemented in support of the organisation’s strategy.
- apply tools and techniques used in support of the organisation’s marketing.
- discuss the activities associated with the management of human capital.
- prepare the full financial statements of a single company and the consolidated statements of financial position and comprehensive income for a group of companies.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum entry requirement is either one of the following criteria:
- Students who have completed CITECH Diploma in Accounting and Finance
- Students who have completed the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting
- Students who have completed a relevant diploma or degree.
- Other qualifications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
CERTIFICATE AWARDING BODY
This certificate is awarded by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
NAME OF AWARD
Upon completion and passing of this course, students will be awarded a CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting issued by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

MODE OF ASSESSMENT
Students will be required to sit for a final written external examination set by CIMA.
LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGIES
Every modules are delivered via lectures, PowerPoint presentations, tutorials, and inpidual assistance as required.
Our courses are generally conducted on a modular basis. Our average contact hours for the Diploma program are 50 hours per module which comprise of lectures and tutorials.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The pass mark for each of the module examination is 50% and permanent credit is awarded for any paper in which the candidate scores 50% or more.
On successful completion of all the three modules in the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting program, students will be able to receive a certificate “CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting”. This certificate is awarded by Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Student must achieve an overall mark score of minimum 50% for all the modules in order to graduate with the respective award.
