Course details
This is a full-time programme. It is designed to introduce the student to International Business, as well as more advanced elements. The first year combines elements of management, finance, marketing, economics, information technology, quantitative and research techniques for business. The second year builds on this by developing the student’s skills and knowledge in the international business area. Like all the institution’s qualifications, there is a strong emphasis on a mix of theory and practice. Classes are interactive environments in which students are encouraged to exchange ideas and experiences. There is a strong focus on developing the student’s personal skills such as public speaking and debating.
The Diploma gives students a foundation in business theory and the confidence in their abilities to allow them to work in the business world. Graduates can work in a wide range of business areas, such as. accounts, administration, finance, ICT, management, marketing and operations. Students can also progress directly to the BA in International Business and then the Master of Business and/or MBA. They can also pursue a career and resume their studies at a later date.

Entry requirements
- American College Dublin has two intakes per year: in September and January.
- A prospective student should submit an application for the course directly to the Admissions Office at American College Dublin.
- Applicants whose first language is not English should have an IELTS score of 5.5 (or equivalent).
Further education students
The College accepts students from further education colleges to all of its courses. Students must have gained three distinctions in a cognate area of the programme that they wish to study. Students must have a full level 5 or level 6 award and this award may have been taken over a number of years. Students with a FETAC qualification can gain access to both American College Dublin and American College Delaware.
Mature student application
Mature applicants can make a direct application to the College. Mature applicants must be 23 years of age on 1 January of the year that they wish to begin their course. Mature applicants must be interviewed by one of the admissions team. All applicants must submit a CV and a personal statement to the College.
